WELCOME TO THE 2024-25 SEASON

Welcome back to hockey! We are excited for the new season to begin and hope you will find the resources on this page useful. As we have made some software changes over the last year, there may be some hiccups as we get everyone into the Crossbar platform, but we hope that in the end this will improve your ability to find important info and feel like our communication channels are consistent and easy to find.

VOLUNTEERING

We are a "member owned and member driven" association. In order for us to be successful, we must all volunteer to help ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly. You can find our volunteer policy on the Rules/Policies page of the website. For each player, the family of the player is required to fulfill the minimum volunteer hour requirement for that age level. The minimum volunteer requirements for each age level are:

● Mites (Level 1) and Girls Development Program - 5 hours (per player)

● Mites (Level 2 & 3) and Girls U8 - 15 hours (per player)

● Squirt, Peewee, Bantam - 20 hours (per player)

● Girls U10, Girls U12, Girls U15, Girls U19 - 20 hours (per player)

● Jr. Gold - 10 hours (per player)

*Family max is 35 hours.

*Please note that during home tournaments families are expected to work a minimum of 6 hours per player they have in the tournament. Tournament volunteering is required even if family hours are covered in another position.

SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST NOTICE

The Wisconsin Legislature passed a new law in 2021 which took effect on July 1st of 2022, that requires: At the beginning of a season for a youth athletic activity offered to persons who are 12 years of age or older, the person operating the youth athletic activity shall ensure that information be developed to educate all athletic coaches and pupil athletes and their parents or guardians about the nature and risk of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) during youth athletic activities. These materials shall include in the information at least all of the following:

(a) Information about the risks associated with continuing to participate in a youth athletic activity after experiencing one or more symptoms of sudden cardiac arrest, including fainting, difficulty breathing, chest pains, dizziness, and abnormal racing heart rate.

(b) Information about electrocardiogram testing, including the potential risks, benefits, and evidentiary basis behind electrocardiogram testing.

(c) Information about how to request, from a pupil's health care provider, the administration of an electrocardiogram, in addition to a comprehensive physical examination required to participate in a youth athletic activity, at a cost to be incurred by the pupil's parent or guardian.

By law, all coaches, players, and parents/guardians must sign an acknowledgement form indicating that they have read and understand the information provided in the SCA materials and that this information be included in the same form as the one required for Concussions. A link will be sent out to all parents of registered skaters this year for you to sign off on.

WAHA requires that our Association President must acknowledge that everyone in the Association has completed all of the requirements described in the Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest protocols of USA Hockey/WAHA and law by signing an Acknowledge form.
